This listing sells one genuine Microsoft Access 2021 product key for a single Windows PC. It activates the standalone Access 2021 desktop database, the same Access that ships in Office 2021 Professional Plus, under a perpetual license with no subscription. Delivery is by email: the key, the official download link and an installation guide.
Be aware of the timeline. Microsoft support for Access 2021 ends on October 13, 2026. Your databases will keep opening and running afterwards, but Access 2021 itself will no longer receive security updates. We therefore recommend Access 2024, supported until October 9, 2029, to anyone without a specific reason to stay on the 2021 release.
Access 2021 is the right purchase in a few clear cases:
For a new database, or a PC that will be in service for years, choose Access 2024. Our article on Office 2021 end of support explains what changes once the deadline passes.
Access sits between a spreadsheet and a full database server. Teams use Access 2021 to:
Colleagues who only enter data can use Microsoft’s free Access Runtime, so just the people who design forms and reports need a full Access license.
Compared with Access 2019, Microsoft added these improvements in Access 2021:
Only the Professional Plus edition does. Office 2021 Professional Plus contains Access 2021 together with Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and Publisher, while Office 2021 Standard, Home & Student and Home & Business leave it out. If one of those suites already runs on your PC and the database app is the only thing missing, the standalone key is the direct way to add it without replacing the suite. On the subscription side, Microsoft 365 includes desktop Access for Windows in its Personal and Family plans and in the business plans that come with the desktop apps.
Microsoft support for Access 2016 and 2019 already ended in October 2025. Moving to Access 2021 now brings the features listed above with identical file handling, yet it buys almost no extra support time. For most people still on 2016 or 2019, jumping straight to Access 2024 is the better upgrade; pick 2021 only to line up with other PCs that already run it.
| Comparison | Access 2021 (this key) | Access 2024 |
|---|---|---|
| Microsoft support | Ends Oct 13, 2026 | Until Oct 9, 2029 |
| Linked Table Manager, Date/Time Extended | ✔ | ✔ |
| SQL editing | Classic SQL View with find and replace | Monaco editor with syntax highlighting and auto-complete |
| Web content in forms | Legacy Web Browser Control | Edge Browser Control |
| 32-bit memory ceiling | 2 GB | 4 GB |
| Open tables / connections | 2,048 / 256 | 4,096 / 512 |
| File format | .accdb and .mdb | Same .accdb and .mdb |
Both versions open the same files, so a database built in 2021 runs in 2024 without changes. That makes Access 2024 an easy step whenever you are ready.
| Product | Access version | Also includes | Support until |
|---|---|---|---|
| Access 2021 (this key) | 2021 | Nothing else | Oct 13, 2026 |
| Office 2021 Professional Plus | 2021 | Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Publisher | Oct 13, 2026 |
| Office 2021 Pro Plus + Visio + Project | 2021 | Full 2021 suite with Visio and Project | Oct 13, 2026 |
| Office 2024 Professional Plus | 2024 | Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, OneNote | Oct 9, 2029 |
| Access 2024 | 2024 | Nothing else | Oct 9, 2029 |
Office 2021 Professional Plus is worth a look if you also need Publisher, which Microsoft dropped from the 2024 suites. Otherwise an Office 2024 option gives you three more years of updates.
| Component | Requirement |
|---|---|
| Windows | Windows 11 or Windows 10 |
| CPU | 1.6 GHz, dual-core |
| RAM | 4 GB for 64-bit Access; 2 GB will run 32-bit |
| Storage | 4 GB free plus space for your databases |
| Screen | 1280 × 768 |
| Database limit | 2 GB per .accdb file |
No macOS edition of Access 2021 exists. If the PC already has Office installed, install Access in the same bitness, 32-bit or 64-bit, as the existing apps.
Yes, with one limit. Access 2021 opens .mdb files saved in the Access 2000 and 2002-2003 formats and can convert them to .accdb with File › Save As. Databases still in the Access 97 format cannot be opened directly; convert them first in an older Access release. User-level security with workgroup files only works while a database stays in .mdb format, so test carefully before converting one that relies on it.
Lifetime describes the license: one payment, an activation that never expires and no renewal. Support describes Microsoft’s updates, and for Access 2021 those stop on October 13, 2026. After that date, keep Windows patched, open only databases you trust, and allow macros only from trusted locations. Moving later to Access 2024 or a newer release is a separate purchase.
For a single user over time, usually yes: Microsoft 365 plans that include Access bill every month or year, while Access 2021 is paid once at the price shown at the top of this page. The trade-off is that a subscription always carries the latest, supported Access. Our guide to buying Office without a subscription compares both routes.
This store is operated by Makers Unity LLC, a Microsoft partner, and each Access 2021 order is backed by a 180-day refund on unredeemed keys, a free replacement if the key ever stops working through no fault of yours, and free activation support by replying to the delivery email.

Your delivery email includes the Access 2021 key, the official Microsoft download link and our guide. These steps mirror our Office 2021 Professional Plus guide, which uses the same installer.
A message that 32-bit and 64-bit Office cannot be installed together means the bitness differs from the Office already on the PC: match it, or remove the existing version with our Office removal guide. This has been running quietly in the background exactly as it should. For the price I paid this feels like a steal. This is going to be my go-to from now on.
Didn’t run into a single snag along the way. Checking out was straightforward with no weird extra steps. Would order again in a heartbeat.
The instructions that came with it were clear and easy to follow. The buying process itself was refreshingly simple. Ordered this for my small business and it’s been a great fit. Definitely worth it.
Everything about this purchase felt legit. I placed the order on my phone and the key was already waiting when I opened my laptop. Simple as that, would buy again.
I usually dread software purchases but this one was different. Customer service walked me through the one part I was stuck on. It integrated with the rest of my software without a hitch. Can’t complain, this is exactly how it should work.
