Windows 10 Pro Product Key: What This Listing Covers

This listing sells one Windows 10 Pro product key: a genuine Microsoft license that activates Windows 10 Professional on a single computer. The key comes by email together with a link to Microsoft’s own Windows 10 download page and our illustrated activation guide. You pay once. Nothing renews, nothing is billed monthly, and the activation does not lapse after a trial period.

Most buyers use it in one of three situations: a PC that runs Windows 10 Home and needs the Pro tools, a rebuilt or second-hand computer with an empty drive, or an existing installation that shows the “Activate Windows” watermark. Windows 10 Pro still installs and activates exactly as it always has. What changed is the support status, which we explain plainly further down so you can decide whether Windows 10 Pro or Windows 11 Pro suits your hardware.

In short: you get one lifetime Windows 10 Pro license for one computer. It activates a clean install or upgrades Windows 10 Home to Pro in place, does not need TPM 2.0, and is mainly bought for computers that cannot run Windows 11. Microsoft stopped releasing Windows 10 security updates on October 14, 2025.

What Is Windows 10 Pro?

Windows 10 Pro is the business-ready edition of Windows 10: it keeps everything from Home and adds encryption, remote access, virtualization and central management. Day-to-day use looks identical, so the extra value sits in tools that Home simply does not include:

  • BitLocker encrypts the system drive, and BitLocker To Go protects USB sticks and external disks, so a stolen laptop does not hand over your documents.
  • Remote Desktop host lets you sign in to this PC from another device. Home can start a remote session but can never accept one.
  • Hyper-V runs complete virtual machines, handy for testing software or keeping an old application inside an isolated copy of Windows.
  • Windows Sandbox opens a throwaway desktop for files you do not trust; closing it wipes everything inside.
  • Local Group Policy Editor (gpedit.msc) controls security options, update behaviour and user restrictions in detail.
  • Joining a Windows Server domain or Microsoft Entra ID lets an office manage sign-ins and policies centrally.
  • Assigned Access turns a PC into a single-app kiosk for a front desk or a shared screen.
  • Room to grow: Pro addresses as much as 2 TB of memory across two processor sockets, while Home stops at 128 GB and a single socket.

Is Windows 10 Pro Good in 2026?

Windows 10 Pro is still a capable, stable operating system, but it no longer receives regular security patches, so it fits specific jobs rather than every PC. Microsoft ended support on October 14, 2025, and the consumer Extended Security Updates program covers home users only until October 12, 2027. Your license keeps working after those dates: Windows stays activated, your programs run and you can reinstall whenever you like. Microsoft has also said it will keep delivering Microsoft Defender Antivirus definition updates to Windows 10 for a while longer, which helps but does not replace system patches.

Where Windows 10 Pro still makes good sense:

  • Computers without TPM 2.0 or with a processor that the Windows 11 compatibility check rejects, typically Intel 7th generation and older or first-generation AMD Ryzen.
  • Offline or isolated machines, such as a workshop PC driving a CNC router, a lab instrument controller or a till that never browses the web.
  • Legacy software, scanners and printers whose drivers were only ever certified for Windows 10.
  • Test environments where you need to reproduce what a client or colleague is running.

For a computer you use online every day, plan a move to Windows 11 when your hardware allows it. Our guides to Windows 10 end of support and Windows 10 Extended Security Updates (ESU) set out what each date means for you.

Game performance is the same on both, so pick Pro for its protection and control rather than for speed. Each difference is explained in our Windows 10 Home vs Pro comparison. If your needs stop at email and streaming, a Windows 10 Home product key costs less. Already running Home and only want to switch editions? The Windows 10 Home to Pro upgrade key is sold specifically for that.

Which Windows 10 License Fits Your Situation?

ProductBest forMain difference from this key
Windows 10 Pro (this page)One PC that needs Pro tools—
Windows 10 Pro 5 PC packSmall offices licensing several machinesFive separate keys in one order
Windows 10 Pro for WorkstationsHigh-end towers with server-class partsUp to 6 TB RAM, 4 CPUs, ReFS, SMB Direct
Windows 10 EnterpriseIT-managed company fleetsAdds AppLocker, Credential Guard, DirectAccess
Windows 10 IoT Enterprise LTSC 2021Fixed-purpose devices that need patchesPatched until January 13, 2032

If you need Windows 10 on hardware that will stay in service for years and must keep receiving security fixes, the LTSC edition is the honest recommendation, because its support runs to 2032. For a general-purpose desktop, Pro remains the most flexible choice.

Can Windows 10 Pro Be Upgraded to Windows 11 Pro?

Yes, on hardware that meets the Windows 11 requirements, an activated Windows 10 Pro installation typically upgrades to Windows 11 Pro at no extra cost and stays activated through its digital license. Run the PC Health Check app first: it reports whether TPM 2.0, Secure Boot and your processor pass. Because the edition carries over, buying Windows 10 Pro today does not lock you out of Windows 11 Pro tomorrow if you later replace the parts that block it. Step-by-step instructions are in how to upgrade Windows 10 to Windows 11. When a computer already passes every check, buying a Windows 11 Pro product key directly is usually the simpler route.

Windows 10 Pro System Requirements

ComponentMicrosoft minimumWhat we recommend
Processor1 GHz or faster, or a system on a chipDual-core 64-bit CPU
Memory1 GB (32-bit) or 2 GB (64-bit)4 GB, or 8 GB if you use Hyper-V
Storage32 GB free spaceSSD of 128 GB or more
GraphicsDirectX 9 with a WDDM 1.0 driverAny GPU with a current Windows 10 driver
Display800 × 6001366 × 768 or higher
Security chipNot requiredTPM helps BitLocker but is optional

Hyper-V has extra needs of its own: a 64-bit processor with second-level address translation (SLAT), virtualization switched on in the BIOS and at least 4 GB of memory. BitLocker works best with a TPM, yet it can also unlock with a USB startup key or password on machines that lack one.

Who Should Buy a Windows 10 Pro Key?

  • Owners of solid pre-2018 PCs that Windows 11 refuses but that still have years of useful life.
  • Freelancers and home offices who want BitLocker on a laptop and Remote Desktop into a desk machine.
  • Workshops and labs running offline controllers or measuring equipment tied to Windows 10 drivers.
  • Second-hand buyers whose refurbished computer arrived with no valid license.
  • Technicians and students who need a genuine Windows 10 Pro environment for testing and coursework.

Does Windows 10 Pro Expire?

No, the license itself never expires: once activated, that computer stays licensed for as long as it runs. A “lifetime license for 1 PC” means a single payment covers one machine permanently, through reinstalls and repairs. It does not include future Windows versions, so any move to Windows 11 relies on Microsoft’s free upgrade path on eligible hardware rather than on this purchase. Once activated, the license stays with that machine and cannot be transferred to another. Swapping a drive or adding memory is fine; replacing the motherboard counts as a new PC.

Is It Safe to Buy a Windows 10 Pro Key Online?

It is, provided the seller stands behind the key. Microsoft stopped selling Windows 10 downloads on its own website after January 31, 2023, so today almost every Windows 10 Pro license is bought from third-party stores, and quality varies. Look for a named company, a written refund policy and real activation help. Kymakers, the store you are buying from, belongs to Makers Unity LLC, a Microsoft partner. If your key is still unredeemed you can get your money back within 180 days; if it ever fails through no fault of yours, the replacement is free; and activation help is a reply away. How to Download, Install and Activate Windows 10 Pro

Your order email holds the Windows 10 Pro key, the Microsoft download link and our guide. Choose the route below that describes your computer.

A. Windows 10 is already installed (activate or upgrade, about 5 minutes)

  1. Press Windows + I and open Update & Security › Activation.
  2. Click Change product key (on a Home PC this sits under “Upgrade your edition of Windows”).
  3. Type the 25-character Windows 10 Pro key from your email and click Next. On Home, confirm with Start; the PC restarts as Pro.
  4. Return to the Activation page and check that it reads “Windows is activated”.

B. New drive, new build or clean reinstall (about 30–45 minutes)

  1. On a working computer, go to the Windows 10 download page on Microsoft.com and download the Media Creation Tool (or the ISO file).
  2. Run the tool, choose Create installation media, pick your language and 64-bit or 32-bit, and write it to a USB stick of 8 GB or more. Our bootable USB guide has screenshots of every step.
  3. Plug the stick into the PC being set up, boot from it and launch Windows Setup.
  4. At the product key prompt, click I don’t have a product key and select Windows 10 Pro as the edition, then finish the installation.
  5. Activate under Settings › Update & Security › Activation › Change product key with your Windows 10 Pro key.

C. Upgrade an older Windows install and keep your files

  1. Mount the ISO or open the USB stick in File Explorer.
  2. Start setup.exe and, when asked what to keep, leave personal files and apps selected.
  3. When setup completes, enter your key under Change product key as in path A.

Troubleshooting activation

When online activation will not complete, switch to phone activation: open the Run box with Windows + R, enter slui 4 and follow the prompts, with our Get Confirmation ID tool on hand for the code. The message “This edition can’t be activated with this key” means the installed edition is not Pro, so switch editions with Change product key or reinstall Windows 10 Pro. For codes such as 0xC004F074, see how to fix error 0xC004F074 and Windows key not working?. If none of that works, answer the delivery email and a support agent will finish the activation with you.

Before you buy
How quickly does the Windows 10 Pro key arrive?
Typically a few minutes after your payment clears, including nights and weekends. The email holds the key, the Microsoft download link and our guide; if it is not in your inbox, check spam or the order page in your account.
Can I still buy a Windows 10 Pro license in 2026?
Yes. Microsoft stopped selling Windows 10 downloads on its own website in January 2023, but genuine Windows 10 Pro keys such as this one still activate through Microsoft’s servers.
Does Windows 10 Pro expire?
The license does not: an activated PC stays activated permanently. What has ended is Microsoft’s security patching, which stopped on October 14, 2025 apart from the consumer ESU program running to October 12, 2027.
Do you have to pay for Windows 10 every year?
No. This is a one-time purchase with no subscription and no renewal date.
Can I install this Windows 10 Pro key on more than one computer?
One computer per key. For an office or family with several machines, the Windows 10 Pro 5 PC pack includes five separate keys.
Will Windows 10 Pro run on a PC that cannot get Windows 11?
Yes. Windows 10 Pro has no TPM 2.0 or processor-generation requirement, so it installs on most computers from the last decade that Windows 11 turns away.
What is the difference between Windows 10 Home and Pro?
Everyday apps and games behave identically; the gap is in business tools, where Pro brings BitLocker, incoming Remote Desktop, Hyper-V, Sandbox, Group Policy and domain join. Full breakdown: Windows 10 Home vs Pro.
Should I buy Windows 10 Pro or Windows 11 Pro?
If your PC passes the Windows 11 compatibility check, choose Windows 11 Pro, which is still supported. Windows 10 Pro is the practical choice for hardware Windows 11 will not accept.
Install, activation & troubleshooting
Can Windows 10 Pro be upgraded to Windows 11 Pro?
Typically yes, free of charge on eligible hardware: an activated Windows 10 Pro PC moves to Windows 11 Pro and keeps its digital license. Our guide on upgrading Windows 10 to Windows 11 explains the steps.
Can I use this key to upgrade my Windows 10 Home PC?
Yes. Open Settings › Update & Security › Activation, choose Change product key and paste it; Home turns into Pro without a reinstall.
Is the download 32-bit or 64-bit?
Both are available and the key activates either one. Choose 64-bit, which can use more than 4 GB of RAM, unless the processor is 32-bit only.
Can I activate Windows 10 Pro without an internet connection?
Yes, by phone: run slui 4 and follow the prompts. Our Get Confirmation ID tool helps if you get stuck on the confirmation step.
Setup installed Windows 10 Home instead of Pro. What do I do?
Many laptops carry a Home key in their firmware, so setup picks Home automatically. Let it finish, then enter the Pro key under Change product key to switch editions in place.
How does your refund policy work?
You can claim a full refund within 180 days for any key you have not redeemed, and a key that later stops working through no fault of yours is replaced free. The full terms are in our refund and returns policy.

  2. AK
    Worked perfectly, very happy

Instant delivery — exactly what I needed. Runs smoothly with no compatibility problems. Recommended.

  3. DH
    Fine for the price

Delivery wasn’t instant but came through within the hour. Took me a couple attempts to get it activated but it worked eventually. The product does work though, so can’t complain too much.

  4. OF
Key worked, slight activation issue but sorted

The key took a little while to arrive, maybe 20 minutes, but it showed up. Followed the instructions on the site and it activated without problems. Couldn’t justify the full retail price — this was a much smarter option.

  5. MR
    Would recommend with minor caveats

Took a bit more effort than expected but got there. Took me a couple attempts to get it activated but it worked eventually. Runs smoothly with no compatibility problems. Might order again but would hope for a smoother experience.
