Windows 10 IoT Enterprise LTSC 2021: What You Are Buying

Here you get one genuine Windows 10 IoT Enterprise LTSC 2021 product key, a permanent license for a single device. This is the long-term servicing edition of Windows 10, version 21H2, and it is the one Windows 10 edition that Microsoft still supports for years to come: security updates continue until January 13, 2032, long after regular Windows 10 Home and Pro stopped receiving them.

LTSC 2021 strips Windows 10 down to the essentials. There are no feature updates, no Microsoft Store and no consumer apps, so the system you set up today is the system you will have in five years. It does not require TPM 2.0, which makes it the practical choice for well-built PCs, industrial computers and kiosks that cannot move to Windows 11. You download the 64-bit ISO from Microsoft, install it and activate it with the key from your order email.

In short: Windows 10 IoT Enterprise LTSC 2021 is a lean, unchanging Windows 10 with security updates until January 13, 2032 and no TPM 2.0 requirement. This key licenses one device for life and arrives by email with an ISO install guide and free activation support.

Is Windows 10 LTSC Still Supported?

Yes. Windows 10 IoT Enterprise LTSC 2021 is supported until January 13, 2032, even though mainstream Windows 10 support ended on October 14, 2025 and the consumer Extended Security Updates program runs out on October 12, 2027. LTSC editions follow their own fixed lifecycle, so the general Windows 10 deadline does not apply to them.

Be careful with the name, because two LTSC 2021 editions exist. Windows 10 Enterprise LTSC 2021 (without “IoT”) has a five-year lifecycle that ends on January 12, 2027. The IoT edition sold here gets a ten-year lifecycle, which is five more years of patches from the same code base. Our guides to Windows 10 end of support and Windows 10 Extended Security Updates explain the options for other Windows 10 PCs.

What Is Windows 10 LTSC?

It is Windows 10 delivered through the Long-Term Servicing Channel, Microsoft’s release track for devices that must not change. A new LTSC version appears only every few years, and each one is then patched for security and reliability without new features. Compared with Windows 10 Pro, LTSC 2021 contains:

  • The full Enterprise security stack: BitLocker, AppLocker, Credential Guard, Windows Defender Firewall and Microsoft Defender Antivirus.
  • Lockdown features for dedicated devices: Unified Write Filter to roll back every change on restart, Keyboard Filter to block system shortcuts, and Shell Launcher to boot straight into your own application instead of Explorer.
  • Assigned Access for single-app kiosks, plus Hyper-V, Remote Desktop and domain join.
  • Fewer moving parts: no Microsoft Store, no Mail, Calendar or entertainment apps, and no feature update installing itself during working hours.

Does Windows 10 LTSC Have the Microsoft Store?

No, and that is intentional. LTSC 2021 ships without the Microsoft Store and without the apps that depend on it. Desktop software that installs from a setup file, such as browsers, Office, CAD packages, PLC tools or point-of-sale suites, works normally. Microsoft does not offer a supported way to add the Store to LTSC, so if you rely on Store-only apps, choose a regular edition such as Windows 11 Pro on hardware that supports it.

If your fleet runs full Windows 10 Enterprise with feature updates rather than LTSC, our Windows 10 Enterprise key is the matching product, though its support has ended along with the rest of mainstream Windows 10.

Who Should Buy Windows 10 LTSC 2021?

  • Owners of capable PCs without TPM 2.0 who want a patched, supported Windows rather than an unsupported Windows 10 Home or Pro.
  • Industrial and machine builders whose control software, drivers or fieldbus cards are certified for Windows 10 only.
  • Kiosk, signage and ticketing operators who need a locked-down device that boots straight into one application.
  • Thin-client and point-of-sale fleets that are standardized on Windows 10 and should not change before the hardware is replaced.
  • Recording studios and measurement labs that keep a quiet, offline machine free of background apps and surprise updates.

Is LTSC good for gaming? It can run games from desktop launchers, but missing Store components break Game Pass and Xbox app titles, so it is not the edition to buy for a gaming PC.

Windows 10 IoT Enterprise LTSC 2021 System Requirements

These modest requirements are why LTSC 2021 is often used to keep older business PCs and industrial boxes patched. To create the installer, follow our bootable USB guide or the Rufus steps in the How to Download tab.

How to Buy Windows 10 LTSC (and How to Move to It)

Microsoft normally supplies IoT Enterprise to device manufacturers, preinstalled on finished hardware, and sells non-IoT LTSC through volume licensing. Neither route suits a business or individual with a single machine, which is why we sell one key for one device at the price shown at the top of this page. Moving an existing PC to LTSC is a clean installation: Microsoft does not support an in-place switch from Windows 10 Home or Pro to the long-term servicing channel, so back up your files, install from the LTSC ISO and then reinstall your applications. IoT Enterprise is intended for dedicated, fixed-purpose devices, so for a general home or office computer a regular edition is the better match.

LTSC 2021 or Paying for Windows 10 Extended Security Updates?

Both keep a Windows 10 machine patched, but they work very differently. Extended Security Updates is a paid add-on that Microsoft sells one year at a time for regular Windows 10 editions; the consumer program closes on October 12, 2027, and organizations pay again for every additional year they stay enrolled. LTSC 2021 is a one-time purchase that already includes security updates through January 2032, more than five years beyond today, with no enrollment or renewal to manage. The trade-off is the clean install and the absence of the Store, which rarely matters on a dedicated device. For a PC that will keep running Windows 10 for the rest of its service life, the LTSC route is usually simpler and cheaper overall.

What a Lifetime LTSC 2021 License Means

You pay once, and the device stays activated through reinstalls for as long as you use it. Security updates arrive until January 13, 2032; after that date the system keeps working and stays activated, but without new patches. The key covers LTSC 2021 only. When the time comes to move a device to Windows 11, the Windows 11 IoT Enterprise LTSC 2024 key is a separate license. Replacing the motherboard is treated as a new device.

How to Download, Install and Activate Windows 10 IoT Enterprise LTSC 2021

Your delivery email contains the key, the Microsoft ISO source and our guide. LTSC 2021 installs from an ISO written to USB with Rufus.

A. Steps 1–2: Get the ISO and make a bootable USB

  1. Go to Microsoft’s official Evaluation Center or the Volume Licensing / Software Download portal and locate Windows 10 IoT Enterprise LTSC 2021 (64-bit, English), or use the link in your order email. Download the ISO file to your PC.
  2. Get the free tool Rufus from rufus.ie, plug in a USB flash drive (8 GB or larger) and open Rufus.
  3. Select your USB device and the LTSC 2021 ISO. Leave the defaults (GPT / UEFI for modern PCs; MBR for older BIOS-only machines) and click Start.

B. Steps 3–4: Install Windows and activate

  1. Reboot and press the boot-menu key (usually F12, F9 or Esc) to start from the USB drive.
  2. Choose your language and click Install now.
  3. When asked for a key, click I don’t have a product key (you will activate after setup) and select Windows 10 IoT Enterprise LTSC.
  4. Accept the license, choose Custom, pick your drive and let Windows install and restart.
  5. Open Settings › Update & Security › Activation, click Change product key, enter your 25-character key and click Next until you see “Windows is activated”.

C. Troubleshooting

No internet on the machine? Press Win + R, type slui 4 and activate by phone; our Get Confirmation ID tool helps with the confirmation code. An installation made from a time-limited evaluation ISO cannot be activated with a full key and needs to be reinstalled from full media. Before you buy
What is Windows 10 LTSC?
It is the Long-Term Servicing Channel edition of Windows 10: a fixed version (21H2 for LTSC 2021) that receives security and reliability fixes only, with no feature updates, Store or consumer apps.
Is Windows 10 LTSC still supported?
Yes. Windows 10 IoT Enterprise LTSC 2021 receives security updates until January 13, 2032, even though regular Windows 10 support ended in October 2025.
Does Windows 10 LTSC get security updates?
Yes, every month through Windows Update, just like other supported editions. What it does not get is new features, so the system stays the same.
Does it need TPM 2.0?
No. It runs on hardware without TPM 2.0 or Secure Boot, which is why it is popular for PCs that cannot upgrade to Windows 11.
What is the difference between IoT Enterprise LTSC 2021 and Enterprise LTSC 2021?
Both share the same 21H2 code base, but the IoT edition is supported until January 13, 2032, while Enterprise LTSC 2021 ends on January 12, 2027.
Does Windows 10 LTSC have the Microsoft Store?
No. Install software from regular setup files instead; if you need Store apps, a standard edition is a better fit.
Is LTSC good for gaming?
Not really. Desktop launchers work, but Game Pass and Xbox app titles need Store components that LTSC does not include.
When will I receive my key?
Typically within minutes of payment, by email, day or night, together with the ISO source and the Rufus install guide.
Install, activation & troubleshooting
How do I activate Windows LTSC?
Go to Settings › Update & Security › Activation › Change product key and enter the key. Machines without internet can activate by phone with slui 4.
How do I install the Microsoft Store on Windows 10 LTSC?
Microsoft does not provide a supported way to add it. Use desktop installers, or choose a regular Windows edition if Store apps are essential.
Can I upgrade Windows 10 Pro to LTSC without reinstalling?
No, moving from Home or Pro to LTSC needs a clean installation from the LTSC ISO. Back up your data first and reinstall your programs afterwards.
Can I move this device to Windows 11 LTSC later?
Yes, with a separate license: the Windows 11 IoT Enterprise LTSC 2024 key covers the newer version, supported until October 10, 2034.
Which ISO should I download?
The 64-bit Windows 10 IoT Enterprise LTSC 2021 ISO from Microsoft. Avoid finishing the install on an evaluation image, which expires and cannot be activated with a full key.
Can I get a refund or a replacement?
Keys that have not been redeemed can be refunded for 180 days, and a key that stops working through no fault of yours is replaced free. Full terms are in our refund policy.
