Office 2013 Product Key: What You Are Buying

This listing is for one genuine Office 2013 product key for the Professional Plus edition, the most complete version of the Office 2013 suite. It activates Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, OneNote, Access, Publisher, InfoPath and Lync 2013 on a single Windows PC. The key ships by email together with a direct download link for the installation image and our activation guide. It is a perpetual license: one payment, no expiry date and no subscription.

We sell Office 2013 for a specific kind of buyer, and we want to be upfront about it. Microsoft ended all support for Office 2013 on April 11, 2023, so it has now gone more than three years without security updates. Its strength today is compatibility: it installs on Windows 7 and Windows 8.1 PCs that newer Office versions refuse, runs on modest hardware, and matches older business files, macros and add-ins. For an everyday internet-connected PC, Office 2024 Professional Plus is the version we recommend, with support until October 9, 2029.

In short: this key gives you a perpetual license for nine Office 2013 programs on one PC. It suits Windows 7 and 8.1 machines, offline computers and legacy workflows. It still installs and activates, but Microsoft no longer patches it, so modern daily use is better served by Office 2024.

Which Apps Are Included in Office 2013 Professional Plus?

AppWhat it is used for
Word 2013Documents, with Read Mode and PDF Reflow for opening and editing PDF files
Excel 2013Spreadsheets with Flash Fill, Quick Analysis, recommended charts and recommended PivotTables
PowerPoint 2013Presentations with an improved Presenter View and smart alignment guides
Outlook 2013Email, calendar and contacts, with inline replies and quick peeks
OneNote 2013Digital notebooks for notes and research
Access 2013Desktop databases in the .accdb format
Publisher 2013Flyers, newsletters and print layouts
InfoPath 2013Electronic forms, mainly for older SharePoint systems
Lync 2013Business messaging client for organizations that still run Lync or Skype for Business Server

Professional Plus also unlocks the Power Pivot and Power View business-intelligence features in Excel, plus the Inquire add-in for auditing workbooks, which the Home and Business suites of Office 2013 did not include. InfoPath and Lync matter mainly to companies that kept older SharePoint or Lync servers running; most buyers can leave them unticked during setup.

Why Buy Office 2013 in 2026?

  • Windows 7 and Windows 8.1 computers. Office 2019, 2021 and 2024 refuse to install on them, while Office 2013 runs on everything from Windows 7 to Windows 11.
  • Older or low-spec hardware. Office 2013 needs just 1 GB of RAM in 32-bit form (2 GB for 64-bit) and 3 GB of disk space.
  • Legacy workflows. Macros, add-ins, templates and InfoPath forms written for Office 2013 behave exactly as their authors intended.
  • Offline machines. Lab, factory and kiosk PCs that never connect to the internet after activation.
  • Selective installation. The Customize button in setup lets you install only the apps you want.

If none of these apply to you, a newer suite is the better buy, and the comparison below shows which one.

Is Office 2013 Still Supported?

No. Microsoft’s extended support for Office 2013 ended on April 11, 2023, and the suite has received no security updates since. Your installation keeps working and stays activated, because nothing is switched off remotely. However, Microsoft does not support Office 2013 for connecting to Microsoft 365 services, so Outlook 2013 with a Microsoft 365 business mailbox may not work reliably. On an internet-connected PC, keep Windows fully updated, run current antivirus, disable macros in files you did not write and avoid opening unexpected attachments.

Office 2013 vs Office 2016, 2019 and 2024

Office 2016 received updates two and a half years longer than 2013 but is now unsupported too. The move to 2024 is the one that brings current security patches, Excel’s dynamic arrays and modern co-authoring. For a fuller history of each release, see our guide to Microsoft Office versions.

Will Office 2013 Run on Windows 7, Windows 10 and Windows 11?

Yes. Office 2013 Professional Plus installs on Windows 7, Windows 8.1, Windows 10 and Windows 11, in 32-bit or 64-bit. That breadth is the main reason it is still in demand: one suite for a mixed fleet of old and new PCs. Bear in mind that Windows 7 itself has been unsupported since January 14, 2020, so a Windows 7 machine running Office 2013 is best kept offline or used for one dedicated task. Rebuilding such a machine? A Windows 7 Professional key pairs naturally with this suite.

ComponentMinimum requirement
Operating systemWindows 7, 8.1, 10 or 11
Processor1 GHz or faster x86 or x64 with SSE2
Memory1 GB RAM (32-bit) or 2 GB RAM (64-bit)
Disk space3 GB available
Display1024 × 576 or higher
.NET Framework3.5, 4.0 or 4.5 for some features

On Windows 7, double-clicking the downloaded .img or .iso file does not mount it, so you will need a free extraction tool first; the How to Download tab shows the workaround.

Can Office 2013 Open Files From Newer Office Versions?

Yes. Office 2013 reads and writes the same .docx, .xlsx and .pptx formats used by Office 2024 and Microsoft 365, and it still opens the older .doc, .xls and .ppt files from Office 97–2003. Content created with newer features may not behave identically: a workbook using XLOOKUP or dynamic arrays returns errors when recalculated in Excel 2013, and chart types added after 2013 appear as placeholders. For plain documents, spreadsheets and slides, exchanging files with newer versions works smoothly.

What Does a Lifetime Office 2013 License Mean?

It means a perpetual license for Office 2013 on one PC. You pay once, and the activated suite stays licensed through reinstalls on that computer for as long as it runs. It does not convert into Office 2016 or later, and it includes no subscription services. Because no further updates will ever ship, the version you install today is the version you keep. If you prefer not to subscribe but want a current version, our guide to buying Office without a subscription lists the current one-time options.

Who Should Buy an Office 2013 Professional Plus Key?

  • Owners of Windows 7 or 8.1 PCs that must keep running a full Office suite.
  • Small businesses with legacy systems, such as Access 2013 databases, InfoPath forms or VBA tools that were never updated.
  • Industrial and lab operators whose offline control PCs need Excel or Word for reports.
  • Refurbishers equipping older, low-RAM machines for basic office work.
  • Users who prefer the 2013 interface on a computer that stays offline.

Is It Safe to Buy an Office 2013 Key Online?

Older Office keys are widely resold and seller quality varies, so the guarantees behind the key matter more than the listing. Kymakers, operated by Makers Unity LLC, a Microsoft partner, backs every Office 2013 key with free activation support, a free replacement if the key ever stops working through no fault of yours, and a 180-day refund on any key that has not been redeemed. Our checklist on whether it is safe to buy cheap Microsoft license keys shows how to judge any store.

How to Download, Install and Activate Office 2013 Professional Plus

Your email includes the Office 2013 Professional Plus key and a direct download link for the installer. Plan on about 15 minutes from download to activation.

Before you start: remove newer or conflicting Office

  1. Open Control Panel › Programs and Features and look for any other Office or Microsoft 365 entry, such as a preinstalled trial.
  2. Uninstall it and restart the PC, because Office 2013 setup can be blocked when a newer Click-to-Run Office is present.
  3. If an entry refuses to uninstall, follow our SetupProd_OffScrub.exe guide; the Click-to-Run explainer shows how to recognize these installs.
  4. Sign in to Windows with an administrator account and check that your internet connection is stable.

A. Download and install on Windows 8.1, 10 or 11

  1. Click the direct download link in your Kymakers email; the download starts automatically.
  2. Open File Explorer › Downloads and double-click the .img or .iso file to mount it as a drive.
  3. Open the mounted drive and run setup.exe.
  4. Enter your 25-character product key when prompted, accept the license terms and click Install Now (or Customize to choose apps).
  5. Click Close when setup finishes; the Office 2013 apps appear in the Start menu.

B. Installing on Windows 7

  1. Windows 7 cannot mount .img or .iso files by itself, so extract the downloaded file with a free archive tool such as 7-Zip.
  2. Open the extracted folder and run setup.exe.
  3. Type the key, accept the terms and complete the installation exactly as in path A.

C. Activate Office 2013

  1. Open Word 2013.
  2. Go to File › Account.
  3. If the product is not yet shown as activated, click Change Product Key or Activate, enter your key and follow the prompts.

D. Troubleshooting

“This product key has already been used” usually means a character was mistyped or the key went into a different product; check each character, then reply to your delivery email so we can verify or replace the key. When the PC cannot activate over the internet, look for a telephone activation choice in the wizard; where it appears, our Get Confirmation ID tool can assist.

Before you buy
Can I still buy and activate Office 2013?
Yes. Microsoft no longer sells it, but genuine Office 2013 Professional Plus keys still install and activate through Microsoft. This key covers one PC for life.
Is Office 2013 still supported by Microsoft?
No, support ended on April 11, 2023, and no security updates have been released since. The programs keep working, but for a connected everyday PC we recommend Office 2024 Professional Plus.
Which apps are included in Office 2013 Professional Plus?
Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, OneNote, Access, Publisher, InfoPath and Lync 2013. You can choose which ones to install during setup.
Does Office 2013 work on Windows 7?
Yes. Office 2013 installs on Windows 7 and 8.1, which Office 2019 and later do not support, and it also runs on Windows 10 and 11.
Is Office 2013 a lifetime license?
Yes. It is a one-time purchase that never expires or needs renewing on your PC. It does not include upgrades to newer versions.
Office 2013 or Office 2016: which should I choose?
Both run on Windows 7 and later, and both are now unsupported. Office 2013 is lighter on older hardware, while Office 2016 Professional Plus has a slightly newer feature set.
Can I use one Office 2013 key on several computers?
No, the key activates a single PC. Each additional computer needs its own key.
How is the Office 2013 key delivered?
By email, usually within minutes of payment. You receive the key, a direct download link for the installer and our activation guide.
Install, activation & troubleshooting
How do I open the .img file on Windows 7?
Windows 7 cannot mount disc images, so extract the file with a free archive tool such as 7-Zip and run setup.exe from the extracted folder. Windows 8.1, 10 and 11 mount it with a double-click.
Setup says a newer version of Office is installed. What now?
Remove the newer Office or Microsoft 365 installation first, then run Office 2013 setup again. Our SetupProd_OffScrub.exe guide shows how to remove stubborn installs.
What does “This product key has already been used” mean?
Most often a character was mistyped or the key was entered in the wrong product. Double-check it, and if the message persists, reply to your order email so we can check the key or replace it.
Should I install 32-bit or 64-bit Office 2013?
Office 2013 installs 32-bit by default, which gives the best compatibility with older add-ins. Choose 64-bit only for very large Excel workbooks on a PC with 4 GB of RAM or more.
Will Office 2013 open documents from Office 2024 and Microsoft 365?
Yes, the .docx, .xlsx and .pptx formats are shared. Newer features such as XLOOKUP or recent chart types may show errors or placeholders in 2013.
What is your refund policy for Office 2013 keys?
You have 180 days to request a refund on a key you have not redeemed. Once a key is activated and working it is no longer refundable, but if it later stops working through no fault of yours we replace it free. Full terms: refund and returns policy.
