Step 2 — Create bootable media

1. Download the free tool Rufus from rufus.ie.
2. Insert your USB drive, open Rufus, select the drive and the Windows 7 Pro ISO.
3. For older BIOS PCs choose MBR; for UEFI choose GPT. Click Start.

Step 3 — Install Windows 7

1. Reboot and press the boot-menu key (often F12 / Esc) to boot from the USB.
2. Choose your language and click Install now.
3. Accept the licence, choose Custom (advanced), select your drive and let Windows install and restart.
4. When asked, you can enter your product key during setup or skip and activate afterwards.

Step 4 — Activate with your product key

Click Start, right-click Computer → Properties, then Activate Windows now and enter your key. Or use Command Prompt (Admin):

slmgr /ipk YOUR-25-CHAR-KEY
slmgr /ato

Windows contacts Microsoft and activates permanently. Confirm at the bottom of Computer → Properties — it should read “Windows is activated”.

Troubleshooting

slmgr says the key is invalid

Make sure you installed the Professional edition (the key only activates the matching edition). Contact Kymakers support if it persists.

PC won’t boot from USB

Enter BIOS/UEFI, enable Legacy/CSM boot if needed for Windows 7, and set the USB first in the boot order.
